    <p>Concerning the environment variables, you can either just always
      source the rivetenv.sh<br>
      script that comes with the bootstrap script or paste the contents
      of that file<br>
      into your .bashrc to make those changes permanent, entirely up to
      you.<br>
      I personally prefer just sourcing rivetenv.sh any time I want to
      use it. That's<br>
      especially handy if you are working with more than one version of
      the program.</p>
