[Pythia8-announce] Pythia 8.186 availableTorbjorn Sjostrand torbjorn at thep.lu.seFri Jul 11 09:54:41 BST 2014
Dear All, PYTHIA 8.186 has been released today, and can be downloaded from http://home.thep.lu.se/~torbjorn/Pythia.html as usual. This mainly is a bug fix update, but also introduces a few new capabilities, see the "Update History" in the manual for details. This is the last regular version in the 8.1 series. The next release will be 8.200, and all future physics upgrades will go into the 8.2 series. There may be a few more 8.1 versions, but then purely with bug fixes. The transition from 8.1 to 8.2 should be smooth, with most user code you may have written for 8.1 working also for 8.2. Some small changes may become necessary, however, notably since a number of deprecated 8.1 methods now are definitely removed (with relevant replacements already in place). Sincerely yours, The Pythia 8 Collaboration (Torbjörn Sjöstrand, Jesper Roy Christiansen, Nishita Desai, Philip Ilten, Stephen Mrenna, Stefan Prestel, Peter Skands)
