[Rivet-announce] Rivet 2.5.2 releasedAndy Buckley andy.buckley at cern.chTue Sep 27 17:52:02 BST 2016
Dear Rivet users, We are very pleased to release Rivet 2.5.2. An extraordinary total of 20 new analyses, both searches and measurements from LEP to Tevatron to LHC have been added in this release! * In addition this release extends the new smearing machinery to include standard MET and electron efficiencies as well as their application in several new (search) analyses. * The Particle and Jet classes have also been enhanced significantly, allowing very expressive analysis code based on filter_select and filter_discard, useful in particular for decay analyses. * A new projection for PartonicTops has been added. This analysis approach is strongly discouraged, but the provision of a standard method means that we can still benefit from analyses done that way, and that those analyses are straightforward to write with minimal validation. The new Rivet is available as always via our website downloads area and "bootstrap" scripts. See http://rivet.hepforge.org/ for details. A new release of YODA 1.6.4 has also been made, with improved build compatibility with Python3 and Cython. These changes are not essential and do not solve all current problems with the bleeding edge versions of these packages, but may be useful to some users. Best wishes and happy riveting, The Rivet Team -- Dr Andy Buckley, Lecturer / Royal Society University Research Fellow Particle Physics Expt Group, University of Glasgow
