Convert the histo names to be valid C++ variable names, since for some godforsaken reason ROOT automatically populates its global scope with pointers accessed via the histo names. I dread to think of how wrong this probably goes when there are histos of the same name in different histo paths... but mangling the names like this keeps our experimental friends happy.
