[Rivet] Charybdis and AlpGen / RivetGun interface change / FHerwig hwaend_ problemAndy Buckley Andy.Buckley at durham.ac.ukWed Oct 17 17:02:31 BST 2007
Hi, I've changed the implementations of the Charybdis and AlpGen wrappers to inherit from their respective FHerwig and FPythia wrappers, which simplifies things a lot, and I've converted all generator wrappers to only use the string-based setParam method (the others will happen automatically). Please test them a bit, since there may be bugs with the parameter passing. Also, I've added the Charybdis and AlpGen generators to the rivetgun list of generators to be dynamically loaded, but since I don't have either installed on my system I don't know if they work. Chances are they don't, because the wrong library is trying to load. If you are working with these generators, can you take a look in RivetGun's src/LoaderDlopen.cc file and try to fix any problems that you encounter? Lastly, I've got FHerwig and FHerwigJimmy split now, and both are available from the command line. However, I see that both versions complain about a missing "hwaend_" symbol: is this one that we've forgotten to declare, or a manifestation of the user process removal from the CEDAR fherwig/fpythia generator bundles?
