[Rivet] Rivet documentation push & other remaining 1.1.2 issuesAndy Buckley andy.buckley at durham.ac.ukTue Dec 16 12:50:05 GMT 2008
Hi y'all, Time for me to hassle you all about documentation again: we want the Rivet documentation for the approaching 1.1.2 release to be the best it's ever been: we don't want to see any more complaints about bad documentation, especially relating to getting started or plotting AIDA data! Can everyone please take a look at the Doxygen pages, Wiki pages and the unfinished LaTeX manual and do a bit of tidying and correcting, please? I know documenting is a pain, but we're selling ourselves a bit short at the moment, and it's easier to introduce new users if we can actually point them at the documentation rather than having to say "Ah, the docs are a bit crap; I'll spend the next hour talking you through it..."! Otherwise, how are we doing for the 1.1.2 release? I have the following issues on my informal list: * Fix AIDA division in new D0 analyses (I hate AIDA) * Make compare-histos script compare 2 MC AIDA files if no ref file provided (needed for YETI) * Use Mac-compatible Python m4 macros (James) * Thread make-plots to speed it up a little (optional, but quick and nice for YETI) Any others? Of course, it would also be nice to have lots of validator plots on the Web, but I think Frank S is off for Christmas now, and I'm sure we can get that sorted easily in January. The actual analysis validation is done, and we have the data for regression testing of the 1.1.3 release (which is nice because we really don't expect physics changes in that release: it'll just be the rivetgun -> Python change + any bug fixes that happen to take place at the same time) Andy -- Dr Andy Buckley Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology Durham University 0191 3343798 | 0191 3732613 | www.insectnation.org
