This is a perennial problem with Herwig. Athena, and also HZSteer, disable the timel routine with a dummy routine. But there may be a more elegant way. I am looking into the jimmy ticket http://projects.hepforge.org/agile/trac/ticket/99 but I leave it to your judegement as to whether to wait for me. I agree we should have a patch release soon.
