This is a rather late announcement about the release of the Rivet
analysis system, version 1.1.2, and the associated AGILe generator
interface package, version 1.1.3. Both versions are available for
download from the HepForge system, and are now the defaults to be
installed using the rivet-bootstrap script (see the documentation at
http://projects.hepforge.org/rivet/trac/wiki/ .)

RIVET - http://projects.hepforge.org/rivet/
The new version of Rivet includes many more analyses from both Tevatron
and LEP experiments, API improvements, bug fixes, and new analysis tool
functionality. A new and improved interface based on the Python
scripting language is optionally included, : the next Rivet release,
1.1.3, will remove the legacy 'rivetgun' tool, so that this new 'rivet'
tool is the only supported command-line interface to the Rivet library.
Rivet 1.1.2 is strongly recommended as the production release of Rivet,
and contains all the analyses used in the Professor tunings of Pythia 6.

AGILe - http://projects.hepforge.org/agile/
AGILe 1.1.3 is mainly a bug-fix release, and a small set of API changes
needed for compatibility with the rivetgun program in Rivet 1.1.2. A
Python interface is also optionally provided with AGILe 1.1.3, and the
agile-rungen command is available as a convenient interface for running
AGILe-supported generators and outputting HepMC event files. Herwig++
support has been removed due to instabilities in the interface code
which could produce unphysical results.
