[Rivet] [Rivet-svn] r2095 - in trunk: data/plotinfo?src/AnalysesFrank Siegert frank.siegert at durham.ac.ukThu Nov 26 10:13:49 GMT 2009
Hi David, David Grellscheid, Thursday 26 November 2009: > I wasn't yet subscribed, so sorry if I'm rehashing an old point that This is indeed a point over which we have had a long discussion. The bottom line of it was: The "raw" data that comes out of Rivet should exactly correspond to the published measurement. So if the measurement takes the cross section into account, Rivet should as well. If the measurement normalises, Rivet should as well. I was initially in favour of your suggestion, but I have been convinced that for the sake of consistency between Rivet releases, we shouldn't introduce such a change for this one release, since in the next release we are going to have YODA anyway and then we'll write out both: raw weights (/moments) and the normalisation corresponding to the measurement.
