Hi Riveters & AGILe fanatics,

I'm pleased to announce that I've just released the 1.1.4 release of the
AGILe generator interface package. AGILe hasn't been worked on heavily
since we split the old "rivetgun" system into two stages, but is still a
very useful and convenient way to run and parameterise Fortran-based
generators such as PYTHIA, HERWIG(+JIMMY), AlpGen, and CHARYBDIS, and to
make them output event data in the HepMC format.

This latest version has been long coming, with a long-term "beta"
release since June 2009 to cover the most obvious functionality lapses i
1.1.3. This update includes, among others, the following improvements:

  * makes use of unit and cross-section functionality in HepMC
  * restructuring of AlpGen and Charybdis interfaces to make use of
JIMMY possible as another permutation of the HERWIG-based setups
  * many improvements to the interface
  * removed Python interface dependence on HepMC version
  * tested with automated builds on several different platforms
(Ubuntu/SL Linux, 32/64 bit) and HepMC versions from the 2.3, 2.4 and
2.5 series.

You can find this latest release at the usual HepForge downloads page:
http://www.hepforge.org/downloads/agile

or from HepForge SVN here:
http://svn.hepforge.org/agile/tags/agile-1.1.4/

I don't anticipate many more releases of AGILe, but as ever I could be
wrong. And if you want to _provide_ an interface to e.g. CASCADE,
MC at NLO, PHOJET or others, then there will definitely be at least one
more version ;)

Cheers!
Andy
