[Rivet] problems with RivetGun/Alpgenrenkel at physics.smu.edu renkel at physics.smu.eduWed Apr 7 23:22:46 BST 2010
Dear Riveters, I am trying to install AlpGen, so it is linked with Pythia, and Rivet for testing purposes. Looking at this page: http://projects.hepforge.org/agile/trac/wiki/AlpGen, I see that it is possible to link them with RivetGun. Is there any difference in output between RivetGun and Rivet? Then, there is a link there: http://www.hepforge.org/downloads/cedar This link should point to the Alpgen under hepforge, but Alpgen is not among its packages. http://www.hepforge.org/projects At least its not shown in this page. I tried to go here: http://lcgapp.cern.ch/project/simu/generator/genser-bootstrap.html for the bootstrap packqage. The file points to http://simu.cvs.cern.ch/cgi-bin/simu.cgi/ If I cd by hand, I see alpgen here http://simu.cvs.cern.ch/cgi-bin/simu.cgi/simu/GENSER3/pkgsrc/MCGenerators/ But when I try to execute the script with alpgen, I get: scathach-clued0:/work/scathach-clued0/SMU/renkel/tunes/genser> ./genser-bootstrap.sh --build-prefix=/work/scathach-clued0/SMU/renkel/tunes/genser2/ --install alpgen INFO: Working PATH=/work/scathach-clued0/SMU/renkel/tunes/local/bin:/usr/krb5/bin:/usr/krb5/bin:/usr/krb5/bin:/usr/lib/qt-3.3/bin:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/clued0/software/opt/openoffice.org3/program:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin INFO: Checking whether minimum system requirements are satisfied: Checking for bash ... /bin/bash Checking for cvs ... /usr/bin/cvs Checking for make ... /usr/bin/make Checking if this is GNU make ... yes Checking for patch ... /usr/bin/patch Checking for sed ... /bin/sed Checking for tee ... /usr/bin/tee Checking for awk ... /bin/awk Checking for perl ... /usr/bin/perl Checking for m4 ... /usr/bin/m4 Checking for autoconf ... /usr/bin/autoconf Checking for automake ... /usr/bin/automake Checking for aclocal ... /usr/bin/aclocal Checking for libtool ... /usr/bin/libtool Checking for gcc ... /usr/bin/gcc Checking for g++ ... /usr/bin/g++ Checking for gfortran ... not found. So I am stuck. Can you please help? I summarize: 1. Is RivetGun gives the same formats of file as Rivet? 2. The RivetGun page links to an empty page without alpgen. 3. When I found Alpgen at the different place, there is some problem with CVS 4. If I manage to get through step 3, will this alpgen installation be linked to RivetGun (Rivet)? Thanks in advance! Peter.
