Recently I also encountered what I think is a related problem with some ALICE software. Maybe it throws some light on this problem. > *************************************************************** > You have installed as gcc /usr/bin/gcc !!! > --------------------------------------------------------------- > Client was compiled with gcc version 3.4 > Your local compiler is gcc version 4.1 > The installation itself contains gcc version 3.2 > --------------------------------------------------------------- > !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > Your local compiler is in conflict with the gcc version used in the client libraries. > > You can use the installation as it is, but you cannot develope code and link against the gapi C++ library. > > To switch off this question set the environment variable: GSHELL_NO_GCC=1 > > ---> You will be asked to recompile the client. > ---> Instead of recompiling or in case the recompilation does not work, > you can switch your invironment and use the installation gcc as a default > To do that add the following variables in your environment: > add /afs/cern.ch/alice/caf/sw/alien/slc4_amd64_gcc34/api//../x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/3.2.3/bin in front of PATH > add /afs/cern.ch/alice/caf/sw/alien/slc4_amd64_gcc34/api//../x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/3.2.3/bin/../lib/gcc-lib/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/3.2.3 in front of LD_LIBRARY_PATH (DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH on MAC) > !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > Do you want to recompile the API with your local compiler. This may take a while .... <yes/no> ? Best regards, Sparsh -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
