Yes, but very incomplete! This was just a hack I put onto the rivet
python script after a conversation with Holger... note that it is marked
as experimental in the script interface and disabled by default: there
is still work to be done to make it really useable!

No, it won't... that's a good point, and whatever histo system we use
we'll have to restructure a bit to use this, i.e. to allow the finalize
to be called multiple times, I guess, or something equivalent.
