No, you're doing fine: it wasn't implemented to be flexible! For now I think best is to make a reference data file for your new analysis, based on the DELPHI 96 one. Or improve the API to make those booking functions able to take the name of another analysis as an argument... I'm not sure how I feel about that, but there is at least one use-case ;) And now some opinions and suggestions about the near future... Over Xmas and at the start of the month I made quite a lot of progress on YODA. The next step is to make reading in of AIDA and flat data files possible, so that we will be able to replace Rivet's current nasty hack for extracting bin edges from AIDA XML! I think a proper improvement of this booking should happen with the rest of that histogramming switchover... my feeling is that we have a bunch of LHC analyses which should be released asap in a version 1.5.0, and then we concentrate our efforts on v2.0 with the new histogramming. Does that sound ok?
