[Rivet] genser news

Hi Anton,

I tried it out for our Rivet+Professor+some generators virtual machine.

I managed to install Pythia6 and Herwig (latest versions in Genser repo) with the lightweight bootstrap script.
But Jimmy seems to not work, configure ends with "./configure: 62: Bad substitution" for latest release, line number 63 for e.g. Jimmy 4.2.

Two more remarks:
The "user options to configuration" is really a nice idea.
It might be depending on used shell and so on, I found for me $HOME/sw resulting in OME/sw, so shell syntax $(HOME)/sw needs to be used.
Maybe one can somehow use some other form of input or place a note about this in the user interface.
Further, I don't know whether it's possible/easy/wanted/needed by others, or probably it's only my case, but I'd like e.g. some source/build directory for compiling and linking and one install directory (e.g. $HOME/sw) containing the usual bin, lib, ... folders - without the deep MCGenerators/generatorname/version/... (ok, it's probably not flexible enough for you... so sry for philosophizing about this ^^)

Latter things are only comments from my point of view, but any help with Jimmy (within this framework) is appreciated! (with the agile-gender-bootstrap it worked in the past on the same system)

Cheers&thanks,
Daniel
