That works fine on the Lion Mac Mini here. The configure line is:

./configure --prefix=/mt/devl-sw/OSX/Lion/Rivet-1.7.0 
--with-hepmc=/mt/devl-sw/OSX/Lion/HepMC-2.06 
--with-gsl=/mt/devl-sw/OSX/Lion/gsl-1.13 
--with-boost=/mt/devl-sw/OSX/Lion/boost 
--with-fastjet=/mt/devl-sw/OSX/Lion/fastjet-3.0 --disable-pdfmanual 
--enable-unvalidated

No special compilers have been selected, the default choice is:

gcc version 4.2.1 (Based on Apple Inc. build 5658) (LLVM build 2335.15.00)
