Forwarding to the rivet list. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: rivet analysis for DELPHI Date: Tue, 26 Jun 2012 13:36:38 +0200 From: Sharka Todorova <sarka.todorova at cern.ch> To: Holger Schulz <hschulz at physik.hu-berlin.de> Hi Holger, another subject : I am running Pythia8 with helix to fix fragmentation parameters on DELPHI_1996_S3430090 and I found couple of problems there 1/ the data are not consistent : the inclusive spectra are supposed to be normalized to the measured charged multiplicity but there is a small difference ( plot 35, the measured N_ch gives 20.92 , but the normalization of inclusive spectra is done to 21.05 ) 2/ the plot 8, ln(1/x) has wrong normalization altogether - the integral gives just 19.94, i.e. 5.5% below the integral for other plots. The MC processed through corresponding rivet analysis has the normalization as expected, i.e. integrals of inclusive spectra correspond to value of d35_x01_y01. I think the data ( minimally for d08_x01_y01) should be corrected - I know people who worked on the paper (Klaus Hamacher,...). This plot allways gave bad chi2, that's how I found out. What do you think ? The impact on fits is visible ( better chi2 after correction ) cheers, Sharka On Jun 26, 2012, at 1:19 PM, Holger Schulz wrote: > On 26/06/12 13:07, Sharka Todorova wrote: >> >> are we talking about plots.pdf file attached to your first mail today >> (168kb) ? it contains not-so-well reproduced b-jets plots, >> not the power spectra from azimuthal ordering ... can you please >> send them once more ? >> >> thanks, cheers, >> >> Sharka >> >> >> On Jun 26, 2012, at 1:01 PM, Holger Schulz wrote: >> >>> On 26/06/12 12:58, Sharka Todorova wrote: >>>> >>>> yes, but for b-jets !
