[Rivet] Fwd: Fwd: Software Sustainability Institute Collaborations Workshop

Is anyone (in the UK) available and interested to go to this on behalf
of Rivet (and perhaps HepData, LHAPDF, etc. etc.)? Unfortunately it
clashes directly with a data preservation workshop at CERN that several
of us will be attending.

I'm not sure how worthwhile it is -- I'm not sure how much benefit there
is of contacting external "developers" when we are already (I think)
competent developers. Our problem is more the lack of funding for
semi-dedicated development manpower, not lack of technical nous. But if
someone's interested enough to go and find out what a project in Rivet's
situation could possibly hope to get, then I can probably provide travel
and accommodation costs.

Cheers,
Andy

Hi folks,

Another opportunity to hone your software development skills! This time,
in Oxford next week.

The Software Sustainability Institute web pages are also a great source
of information, inspiration and education as well - have a look at:

and particularly in the "Resources" section.

Software Sustainability Collaborations Workshop 2013
====================================================

21-22 March 2013, Merton College, Oxford

The Software Sustainability Institute is running its annual
Collaborations Workshop (CW13) at Merton College, Oxford. This
workshop brings together researchers, software developers, managers,
funders and more to explore ideas in software pertinent to their
research and exploit any synergies that may lead to interdisciplinary
collaborations.

Last year's workshop (CW12), also held in Oxford, was attended by
researchers, developers, managers, funders and some independent
developers was a great success. An article on the workshop
can be found in the Ariadne magazine:

http://www.ariadne.ac.uk/issue68/cw12-rpt

This workshop will give you an opportunity to meet and network with
fellow researchers, learn more about the Software Sustainability
Institute and how they may be of help to make you more productive in
your research. It will give you an opportunity to network with other
researchers and developers that may lead to new collaborations being
established.
