[Rivet] Rivet "collaboration meeting"?

Hi Frank,

That's interesting - I actually had a similar discussion with Sascha Mehlhase here about the possibility of using Rivet as part of a general constraint on new models. My initial reaction was that is perhaps something for the long-term, but it's hard to get around unfolding cuts. Alternatively, going down the pseudo-detector sim route as they suggest in that link has its own problems, and ideally there would at least be some agreed upon standard à la HepMC for specifying the smeared particles. Now that many glaringly obvious BSM scenarios have been eliminated, my preference would be to encourage unfolding, for whatever effect our encouragement actually has ;)

Anyway, I'd be interested in hearing about it, even though I suspect the topic needs a workshop all to itself.

cheers,

James
