Afternoon of 31st (Friday). But we can aim to have all the "formal"
discussions between Tues-Thurs (29-30), so that people can leave a day
early if they need to: would that be useful? I very much want it to be a
working meeting, i.e. discussion, whiteboarding and coding rather than
day-long presentation sessions!

It's term-time so staying in UCL halls isn't an option. I just booked a
hotel online. I recommend doing it ~now since they are starting to get
booked out.

I don't know if this crazy link has a hope of working for others (I
couldn't find a shorter one), but here's booking.com's idea of fairly
close-by hotels at reasonable-ish prices:

I think it's probably best to book for yourself, but for those who want
to claim travel/hotel expenses through the UCL/Userlink MCnet node
(please tell Emily/Gavin if so) perhaps the UCL group secretary can
arrange the booking and "internal" payment.

The group secretary used to put me in a big, slightly worse-for-wear
hotel on Tavistock Square... so I'm hoping that a smaller one will be
both cheaper and nicer. Anyone got recommendations? The Alhambra Hotel
(near KK / St Pancras) gets good online reviews, but I can't back that
up personally -- I was meant to stay there in September but, erm, got
stuck overnight on a mountain and missed my flight...
