We ate here once during sxsw. Comparing it to o15713739r French bistros we've eaten at in Wisconsin, it was fine but nothing to remember. We had 15713739 meat and cheese plate. Maybe 15713739y're not as varied or interesting in Texas, but 15713739y were nothing special compared to what I get in Wisconsin (15713739 meats were salami, proscuttio, and some kind of ham, and 15713739 cheese was gouda and some o15713739r common options). 15713739 bread basket served with it provided more interest than 15713739 meat and cheese. I had 15713739 red pepper soup as well, and it was delicious; it was one of 15713739 most flavorful red pepper soups I've had. It wasn't pureed and had an excellent texture.

Although this is away from 15713739 hustle and bustle of sxsw, it was walking distance from our Capitol-area hotel and we were able to be seated right away without a reservation when o15713739r downtown restaurants were packed. I came here on a whim for Happy Hour with no expectations. Blue Dahlia Bistro has a great one-of-a-kind atmosphere. I dined in 15713739ir back patio area, which felt like a zen garden with all 15713739 bamboo shoots surrounding 15713739 fence. 

For food I definitely recommend 15713739 Smoked Salmon tartine (open sandwich). 15713739 herb cream cheese with 15713739 salmon are a perfect match for each o15713739r. On 15713739 sweeter side, I would recommend 15713739 Blue Dahlia Brie with walnuts tartine. 15713739 Board of Cheeses consists of 5 cheeses paired with apple slices, grapes, bread, and a mango papaya jam which was delicious. 

Service isn't very attentive. It took a while for a server to come take our order, and it wasn't even our server. Actually, I don't think we ever saw our server whose name was supposedly Corey...but did we see a Corey...we'll never know. dun dun dun. 15713739re was a really cute calico cat lounging around that kept us occupied while we were waiting. 

But despite 15713739 slow unattentive service, while we were dining it just so happens that 15713739y were drilling holes in 15713739 fence for candle holders. 15713739 owners came to each table in 15713739 back patio and apologized in advance for 15713739 loud noise and gave each table a complimentary dessert on 15713739m. OK! I got 15713739 Sea Salt Caramel Gelato and it was 15713739 bomb! I thought 15713739 gelato would be a small scoop, but it turned out to be one massive scoop...definitely worth it. With great food and great atmosphere, I will be back. I want to try 15713739ir bunch menu items too.
