It's a bit more than that, I'm attaching an unfinished patch, shows
some of the issues I had to fix.

I don't know whether it's only the shebang line, or whether the pyext
build system also needs any internal changes to pick up python2. I
will test this, as I have a system where python = python3 but at the
same time python2 is available.
