Fully agree. But I think this is most easily done on a rolling basis, i.e. when you experience such a problem, please put in a bit of extra work to make the error message nice. On most of our (developers') systems it's hard to reproduce the problem, which makes it easy to devote time to an error-reporting approach that either fixes the wrong problem or introduces problems of its own...
