Hi Andy,

I would like to rethink the finder logic for version 3. Over the last
few years this has been the most brittle part of the Rivet user-facing
side, and it's clearly still not settled.

Independently of the XYZFinder issue, this workaround should not be
necessary if we ensure that any projection member function returns
stable results after 'project()' has been run.

Do you want this to be reviewed for 2.6 or 3.0? It does need to be done
at some point.
