[LHAPDF-announce] LHAPDF 6.1.1 releasedAndy Buckley andy.buckley at cern.chTue May 27 14:27:49 BST 2014
Dear LHAPDF users, We're pleased to announce the release of LHAPDF 6.1.1, which is available for download now from http://lhapdf.hepforge.org/ and is recommended for immediate use. This is a minor update release, with the following improvements and bug fixes: * A new LHAPDF/Reweighting.h header which provides several routines for PDF reweighting. While trivial, hopefully these routines will prove useful for many users, at least by avoiding the need to build an external tool on top of LHAPDF for this purpose. * Do-nothing implementations of several LHAPDF5 C++ interface functions: these have no effect but may help with backward compatibility. * Removal of an internal aliasing of "BOOST_FOREACH" to "foreach": we received a report of build problems related to this, and Boost now recommend against it. If you want a "foreach" directive for use in your own code, please follow the instructions here: http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_55_0/doc/html/foreach.html#foreach.introduction.making__literal_boost_foreach__literal__prettier * Changing an LHAGlue/PDFLIB compatibility function printout to avoid confusion when used with Fortran HERWIG. In addition, we have recently re-migrated all NNPDF set data files to remove a duplicated sampling point at the high-Q limit of the sets, which led to undefined behaviour when querying the PDFs at very high Q2 values. You are advised to update their PDF sets using the "lhapdf update" and "lhapdf upgrade" commands (or by manually re-downloading them). This release should build without special instructions on any system with Boost >= 1.41 installed; this includes Scientific Linux 6. However, due to some issues with Mac system build tools, Mac users are encouraged to consult the information at http://lhapdf.hepforge.org/install.html#osx before building LHAPDF. Best wishes, Andy & the LHAPDF6 team -- Dr Andy Buckley, Royal Society University Research Fellow Particle Physics Expt Group, University of Glasgow / PH Dept, CERN
