[LHAPDF-announce] LHAPDF 6.1.2 release!

Hi everyone,

With incredible timing, the very day after we release LHAPDF 6.1.1 we
identified a small but sufficiently annoying bug in the backward
compatibility interface with Fortran HERWIG!

In summary, HERWIG would work fine with LHAPDF6 if initialised using the
"DEFAULT" string argument, but would not work as expected if "HWLHAPDF"
was passed. This inconsistency has now been fixed in a new 6.1.2
release. You could always get the right behaviour by passing "DEFAULT"
but we thought this was worth making a new release to ease transitions
to LHAPDF6.

So there's nothing wrong with 6.1.1 relative to any previous release of
LHAPDF6, but 6.1.2 is a little bit better if you want to use Fortran
HERWIG, so we recommend upgrades to go straight to it. Hopefully we've
got this one out quickly enough to cause avoid inconveniencing you with
_two_ new installations!

As always, the code tarball is available from
  http://lhapdf.hepforge.org/
There are no PDF data updates (or indeed any other code changes)
associated with this release.

Best wishes,
Andy & the LHAPDF6 team
