That's also something I was wondering about for the validator: If it works out, the validator will be useful for Rivet (validating Rivet), the generator authors (validating a new generator version), and maybe even experiments (validating a generator tune). Since these groups might belong to different VOs, it would be nice if the software requirements for a grid job are specified completely separately from the VO you use. I thought this was the case, but have never used software requirements myself. Frank
