Hi Michelangelo et al, This sounds good to me -- we have plenty of practice in giving tutorials these days! My feeling is that a multi-day Rivet school would be rather excessive -- and not least gives the *impression* that there is a several-day learning curve required before any analyses can be written, which I don't think is true. One day should be sufficient -- how about a slot during the early-August theory workshop at CERN? > We should also > resurrect the old idea of building within Genser or SFT the > sufficient expertise to provide user support and advice, beyond what > the rivet team can do. Again, sounds very good to me! It would be very useful for us if Genser/SFT could provide a technical first point of call, so we can concentrate our time on the development. > The LPCC can help in all of these directions, > offering per diem to rivet members who can spend time at cern > providing service work (tutorials, schools, sharing expertise with > genser/sft, ...), helping with the logistics of setting up the > school, pushing for or directly providing resources to genser for > rivet-related work, etc.etc. > > so just let me know if there is anything we can do to help. Thanks for the offer! I think it would be very useful to follow this up in particular for a couple of students who will each be working on Rivet features and analyses this summer. I'll contact you separately about this.
