I should really have done this immediately after the 1.5.0 release. The 
idea is to clearly distinguish runs of the trunk Rivet from the release. 
Sorry for the hassle! If you can do a similar change to 1.5.2a0 after 
releasing 1.5.1 then hopefully no-one (other than you!) will have to 
reconfigure before the next release.

However, a good reason to have made this alpha version mark is for 
testing via mcplots -- this worked very well last time, so I suggest 
that we do so again now, once we have the code in a state which we'd be 
happy to be used for pre-release testing.
