[Rivet] Rivet install problem

I have seen this GLIBCXX error before when trying to use rootcint - the origin of the problem was that gcc was somehow bringing in two different versions of stdc++ .  I think this happened when the Athena environment was set up.  Did you check there isn't some Athena-ish environment set up in his login script, for example? 

yes, HepMC 2.03 is still in use
